Background material such as previous translations, translation memories and specialist terminology.
The translator will consult the background material and prepare for the translation. Such preparation depends on the scope and difficulty of the text. A professional translator translates approximately 6 pages (1 page = 1,560 characters) of text per working day (7.5 h).
Approximately 10-15% of the time spent translating should be allocated to proofing.
The translation speed is also affected by the language pair, the subject area and the content.
Done always estimates the delivery time as well as the cost estimate. These are verified in the order acknowledgement.
